Highlights from the Care Show & Digital Healthcare Show

26 April 2024

Hartwig Care proudly attended the Care Show London, held at the iconic ExCeL London on 24–25 April. This leading event is a cornerstone for professionals in health and social care, offering a dynamic space to explore cutting-edge innovations, share best practices, and network with industry experts.

Why Care Show London Matters

The Care Show London is more than an exhibition—it’s a hub for collaboration and knowledge exchange. It brings together care providers, technology innovators, and policy leaders to discuss the future of care delivery. For Hartwig Care, attending this event reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in the services we provide.

Key Themes and Insights

Over two days, our team engaged in panel discussions, workshops, and presentations covering critical topics such as:

  • Patient safety and feedback
  • AI integration in care
  • System interoperability
  • Staff wellbeing and burnout prevention

These sessions provided actionable insights to help us enhance care quality, efficiency, and staff support.

Highlights from Panel Discussions

Some standout sessions included:

  • Moving Forward: The Centrality of Social Care in Future Policy
Led by Gavin Edwards (UNISON), Gill Morris (Future Social Care Coalition), Natalie Grayson (GMB UNION), and Vic Rayner (NCF).
  • Preventing Clinical Burnout – Could Ambient Voice Technology Be the Answer?
    Led by Rishi Das-Gupta.
  • Care Connections: Mastering Social Media
Featuring Amy Dobson (Hallmark Luxury Care Homes), Ben Miller (Milkwood Care), and Daniel Jenkins (Wagada Digital).
  • Scaling Innovation Across the NHS – Successes and Challenges
Led by Catherine Davies (Digital Healthcare Council), Ruth Poole (PreventX), Lyndsey Reeves (Livi), and Dr Sara Day (NHS).

Integration of NHS and Social Care: A Key Focus

One major theme was integration and interoperability. Nick Goodall from NHS England stressed the importance of digital solutions to connect systems and improve patient services. The takeaway? Technology must reduce workload, save time, and support staff retention—not add complexity.

Digital Tools and Sustainability in Care

Technology is transforming care delivery, but it must be implemented thoughtfully. Key points included:

  • AI and automation to improve efficiency and staff wellbeing.
  • Data-driven tools for sustainability and cost reduction.
  • GDPR compliance and system compatibility as essential for successful digitalisation.

Experts agreed that holistic, integrated systems are vital to avoid short-term fixes and prevent digital fatigue.

Hartwig Care’s Commitment to Innovation

Our participation in Care Show London reinforces our dedication to advancing health and social care. The insights gained will help us adopt best practices and innovative solutions to improve outcomes for both clients and staff.
